Servicing Children With Special Needs from Birth to Age 3
The Early Intervention Program supports families with children ages from birth to 3, who have disabilities or developmental delays. After a child is evaluated and found eligible for the Program, a team of professionals works with the family to create a service plan that meets their needs. The program is at no cost to families and is available to all New York families regardless of race, ethnicity, income or immigration status. In order to determine whether your child has autism spectrum disorder or another developmental condition, clinicians look carefully at the way your child interacts with others. If you are concerned that your child has autism spectrum disorder and developmental screening confirms the risk, ask your family doctor or pediatrician to refer you immediately to an autism specialist.
Municipalities have established contract provisions ensuring that State-approved and contracted EIP providers adhere to State and Federal laws and regulations, and local requirements, when delivering EIP services to eligible children and their families. These State and local requirements are intended to assure the highest degree of professionalism, expertise, and experience among all providers of early intervention services to infants and toddlers with disabilities and their families.
I am Approved and Contracted as an Early Intervention Provider with New York State Department of Health.
